Who?

I'm so excited to have you here!

My name is Sheila. I'm a wanderer, from Florida, to Montana, to South Carolina, up to Wisconsin currently and soon to be back down to Georgia. I suffer from an inability to leave things plain. I have a superpower that allows me to create a mess in the cleanest of rooms in seconds without effort. I am almost always late, try as I might to be otherwise. I binge-watch too many shows, read too many books, and eat too many cookies. I'm excessively proud of being left-handed, having freckles, and of having a name that not many others share. I'm a thirty-something looking to live a happy, healthy, creative life, beyond expectation or restriction. I would love it if you joined along.

So why is does this blog have "cookie cutter" in the title if it's not totally about baking... The inspiration for the title of the blog was an apartment in Columbia, SC; I went from a very unique space in Montana to one that was exactly the same in every unit. I knew it would drive me crazy if there weren't unique and personal little touches added all over the place so the challenge, and name, was brought to life. I love handmade items, flowers, and people because there will never be two exactly alike. Thus, is the reasoning to seek beyond the cookie cutter!

How about you? Are you a crafter and supporter of all things creative? I'd love to know!

Sheila

  1. You are a funny little person. :D I like it! Have never stuffed with scraps, might get funny shaped. I stuff with poly fill from old pillows. Lots. Like your introduction. Wish I could be that articulated in my 20s and so sure of who I was and what I wanted to become... You go girl. I'll come and visit and cheer you on on your life journey.

    1. It means so much to me that you stopped by and actually enjoyed what you read! I love following My Rose Valley. If I try it with the scraps and it works out I'll be sure to let you know. If not, I'll bury the evidence :)

PS. I underappreciated the difficulty of photographing crochet projects because you make it look so easy!
